West Cheshire prepare for Paralympic celebration and Red Box attend Fifth Wheel expo

August 7, 2012

We have been busy working with our client West Cheshire College to promote a weekend of events for the Paralympic Flame Celebration for when the Flame makes its way to the North West.

Only four communities in the North West will host the Flame and the College is working closely with Cheshire West and Chester Council and other local businesses to create a series of events to mark the special occasion in Ellesmere Port.

College student Josh Dunn has been selected as the town’s Flame Ambassador and will start the celebrations by travelling to the English Flame Lighting Ceremony in London on Friday 24 August to collect it and bring it back to Ellesmere Port.

On Saturday 25th August there will be a Flame Procession from Sainsbury’s at Cheshire Oaks with nominated Flamebearers carrying the Flame to the EPIC Leisure Centre. The College will host the main Flame Celebration Event with activities including: a fencing demonstration by wheelchair fencer Adrian Derbyshire; performances by IndepenDance, Cheshire Dance and Samba Drumming; accessible cycling; Activate Arts and much more.

Other events throughout the weekend include the Flame visiting Northwich Festival, National Waterways Museum, Chester Zoo and The Neuromuscular Centre in Winsford.

Recently we have also been to Fifth Wheel’s expo day to celebrate their 10th year anniversary. Customers old and new gathered to celebrate their successful decade in business and it was a fantastic event to be involved with.

The weekend’s activities included the chance to test drive a Fifth Wheel tourer, visit their factory and showroom and a BBQ serving local, fresh produce including a cake in the shape of their Celtic Rambler.
