Vauxhall Apprentices delighted with the new Astra coming to Ellesmere Port

May 18, 2012

One of the biggest news stories this week was the announcement that car manufacturer Vauxhall will be creating 700 new jobs as the production of their new Astra comes to their Ellesmere Port plant- and Red Box were involved.

Our client West Cheshire College, who are also based in Ellesmere Port have a long-standing relationship with Vauxhall and currently have five Apprentices on a four year training scheme through the College.

The Apprentices are currently based at the College full time and will next year divide their time between working at the plant for four days a week whilst learning theory at the College’s hi-tech Chester Campus for one day a week.

When the announcement was made BBC North West Tonight came down to the College’s Chester Campus to talk to our young Apprentices to get their reaction on the announcement and to speak to our employment advisors who have worked closely with Vauxhall to create the Apprenticeship scheme.
