Red Box welcomes u-turn on VAT hike

May 31, 2012

This week we have been delighted by the news that the Government has made a u-turn on the decision to add 20% VAT to static caravans and fifth wheel type tourers.

The proposed tax hike would have had a massive impact on our client, caravan and tourer manufacturer Fifth Wheel Company.

We helped Fifth Wheel with their campaign to stop the tax hike by targeting the caravan media and local press to raise awareness of the issue.

On Monday the Government announced that they will now be adding 5% instead of 20% to static caravans and fifth wheel tourers, although we are still waiting for finalised details, it looks like the Government listened to the various campaigns throughout the country and decided against their original decision.

It was a great week all round for Fifth Wheel – we also secured them a double page spread feature in North Wales Daily Post, read more about this impressive family business here.

This week was also the launch of our client Wacky Warehouse’s summer loyalty campaign – the Kidz Summer Club. It’s a great campaign which we’ve been running for seven years (!). For just £10, guests can buy a booklet which gives them 5 Wacky Plays for their kids plus 24 offers and discounts that we set up with the likes of Alton Towers, SEALIFE, Keycamp, Trunki and Puffin books.
