“I get a real buzz from teaching and I have always done it part-time alongside my career. I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to do it full-time.

“I hope that during my teaching career I can inspire the students to fall in love with performing and go on to have a successful career like I have.”

Karl Pendlebury has equally impressive background with over 25 years’ experience working as a musical director on the West End and Broadway.

Karl has worked on hit shows such as Mama Mia, Rent, Les Misérables and Rent. He said: “During my career I have taught at some of the best performing schools in the country.

“Teaching is something that I always enjoy and I want to provide students with a solid education.

“From working in the industry, I have learnt that it is very tough. I want to pass on my experience and ensure that our students are fully prepared for it when they leave here.”

Sharon Brown, Assistant Manager Performing Arts at West Cheshire College, said: “We are delighted with the appointment of Carrie and Karl.
