Joe, 17, from Chester, who is studying a BTEC Diploma in Sports and Leisure, is now preparing for a ten day trip to Cape Town where he will coach football to children from a variety of schools.

Joe said: “I was really surprised when I found out I was receiving the fund and I am very grateful.

“I will be able to use the skills that I have learnt at College to teach the kids whilst I’m out there.

“I really want to be a PE Teacher and I think the trip will give me lots of experience as well as the chance to see a totally different culture.”

Joe, who kicks-off his trip on the 13th April, has also been awarded a Vinspired V100 Award for contribution to volunteering in the local community

Caroline Fidmont, Vice Principal at West Cheshire College, who presented Joe with the cheque said: “I was very impressed with Joe’s application and was delighted to present him with his cheque.
