Rackline steps up to the job at Johnsons Shoes

April 20, 2012

Storage manufacturer Rackline has completed a £23k contract with high-end shoe retailer Johnsons Shoes at their Walton-on-Thames store.

Rackline, based in Newcastle-Under-Lyme, won the contract to install its innovative Monotrak system into the stock rooms of two Johnson Shoes shops in Newbury and Walton-on-Thames.

Tracy Goodwin, Commercial Director at Rackline, said: “We installed the Monotrak system as it is capable of more than doubling conventional storage space.

“This was ideal for Johnsons as they wanted to store a large quantity of shoes in various colours and sizes, so it was essential to maximise capacity.”

Nick Parkin, Director at Johnsons Shoes, said: “We chose Rackline because their products are very flexible. They could provide us with any size combination we required which meant we were able to design a stock room to our exact specification.

“I have built stockrooms for years so I knew what I wanted and Rackline delivered above and beyond our expectations. The standard of our business is very high and a good stockroom is the key to a successful branch - if staff can’t find the shoes they will not be able to sell them, it’s as simple as that!”

Rackline, established in 1984, designs and manufacturers innovative storage solutions to meet the general filing and archive requirements of libraries, museums, universities and colleges, hospitals as well as accountancy and solicitor firms and large retail and commercial head offices.

The company has won a number of high profile clients recently including Clarks shoes, Bradford Metropolitan Council, the William Morris Gallery in London and the Britten Pears Foundation in Suffolk.

Johnson’s Shoe is a leading independent branded shoe retailer, which has recently celebrated its 60th anniversary. The family business has 14 branches across the south of England selling branded footwear for all ages.
