Poet, novelist and playwright Benjamin Zephaniah visits College

The poet, novelist and playwright Benjamin Zephaniah is visiting West Cheshire College on Monday 13th October to speak to students about his new novel, Terror Kid.

The powerful new novel is about a Romany boy called Rico who is angry about the injustices he sees around the world and decides to do something about it. His apparently harmless actions quickly see Rico on the run, accused of murder and terrorism.

Clare Owens, Head of School-English and ESOL from West Cheshire College, said: “Guest speakers like Benjamin really help to enrich our students’ experiences here at College and we are delighted that he is taking the time to visit us.

“Benjamin is incredibly talented and will be a huge inspiration for our students. His book sounds fascinating and I know that it will spark a great discussion.”

Benjamin Zephaniah was born in 1958, Birmingham and was included in The Times list of Britain's top 50 post-war writers in 2008.
