Music students raise money for Oxjam

November 21, 2012

The event, which was held at Chester’s Compass Bar, showcased the talents of the students to raise money for the month-long festival run by charity Oxfam.

Danielle Young, 19, from Chester who is studying Extended Diploma in Music Practice, said: “The music event was a great night full of energy. There was a real mix of entertainment and there was something for everyone to enjoy. We got really amazing feedback from the audience.

“It was a great experience to be part of the event and has helped to build our confidence and skills further.”

Martin Holmes, Programme Leader in Music, said: “I thought it was a fantastic night and there was so much talent on show from our students.

“It was great to see students old and new join forces and gain experience whilst raising money for a good cause.”

Oxjam is a month-long music festival held across the UK which raises money for Oxfam to help people in need across the world, organised by volunteers who love their local music scene.
