Manager chooses Apprenticeship to help in new role

October 15, 2014

A beauty spa Manager has proved that an Apprenticeship can be for anyone after enrolling on an Apprenticeship in Beauty course at West Cheshire College.

Sanda Adone, Manager of Spa by Kasia at the Grosvenor Pulford Hotel and Spa, started the Apprenticeship as a way of supporting her job role and to learn more about running a business.

Sanda, 32, from Chester, who had previously worked her way up from Hostess at the hotel, said: “I wanted to do additional training when I got my managerial role in order to improve my current skills, learn new things and develop my knowledge of running a business.

“Instead of going to College full-time, I decided to do the Level 3 Apprenticeship as the studying could work around my job at the Spa.

“I’m so glad that I did the Apprenticeship. The course covered topics such as the human body and how treatments can really improve your overall health and wellbeing.

“It also covered a lot of points about how to run a successful beauty business so it has really helped me in my current role.”

Kerry Martinez, Head of School for Hair and Beauty at West Cheshire College, said: “Sanda is such a hard working student and has really done well throughout her Apprenticeship.

“Sanda is a great example that Apprenticeships are not just for younger people starting out in their career, they can be used for people who have progressed to a new role or to refresh and develop your current skills.”

West Cheshire College delivers hundreds of Apprenticeships each year in a variety of industry sectors including retail, engineering, hospitality and catering, construction, ICT and health and social care.
