Make it Happen with West Cheshire College

June 13, 2014

West Cheshire College is hosting a Showcase Evening on Wednesday 5th March at its Ellesmere Port Campus for anybody looking for advice for their next steps or simply wanting a new challenge.

Whether you are a school leaver looking to do a full-time course or A Levels in September, considering an Apprenticeship, currently working and wanting to improve your skills, or you are unemployed and looking to get into work - then come along and talk to tutors and our impartial Information, Advice and Guidance Team.

The event will include information on courses and will give attendees a chance to find out about full-time and part-time courses as well as Apprenticeships in a range of subject areas. Local employers including Vauxhall Motors, Unilever, Airbus, Navy, Doubletree Hilton, Skills for Health Academy, Adecco, Aldi, CLS Care Services and Jobcentre Plus, will be at the evening to discuss training and employment opportunities.

People looking to study at university will have the chance to speak to representatives from Manchester Metropolitan University, University of Chester, University of Lancaster and Manchester College of Law.

As part of the event, visitors can find out more about the College’s 2014 Make it Happen Skills Camp. As part of the campaign the College aims to help all school leavers and adults who are looking for a job or Apprenticeship; support unemployed people to enable them to get the right skills for the workplace; plus help people in work or volunteers build their skills for promotion or a new job.

Helen Nellist, Vice Principal at West Cheshire College, said: “Whatever you are considering for your next steps and whatever position you are currently in, then our Showcase Evening will be a one-stop shop of all the information and guidance you will need.

“Our tutors and students will be on hand to discuss the opportunities we have here at the College and will use interactive activities to show you what it is like to study here.

“The evening will also provide entertainment from our students, so it will be a great evening for everyone.”

The Showcase Evening is being held on Wednesday 5th March between 3-7pm at their Ellesmere Port Campus, Sutton Way.
