People from across the region are invited to a Careers Open Evening at West Cheshire College on Thursday 14th March.

People from the region are invited to West Cheshire College’s Careers Open Evening looking for their next steps

The event, organised to coincide with National Apprenticeship Week (11-15 March), includes the opportunity to apply for more than 50 Apprenticeship vacancies, plus find out more about full-time courses available at the College.

Employers attending the event include Unilever, Territorial Army, RAF, GAP Personnel, Brio Leisure and Vauxhall, who announced on Monday 13 new Apprenticeships for their September 2013 intake.

The event is open to school leavers, people looking to improve their career prospects or even people who want a complete career change.

Attendees will also have the chance to find out more about Higher Education opportunities with Liverpool John Moores University, Manchester Metropolitan University, Edge Hill University, Liverpool Hope University and West Cheshire College.

Helen Nellist, Acting Principal of West Cheshire College, said: “We have something for everyone at our Careers Open Evening and we are urging anyone from school leavers to adults wanting a complete career change to come along.

“As a vocational College all our learning is based on real-working environments so our students can gain the qualifications, skills and hands-on experience that employers require and leave being ready to go straight into employment.

“During the event, attendees can also apply for a wide range of Apprenticeships that we are currently advertising.”

Subject areas covered during the event includes: applied, medical & forensic science; art & design; business;  childcare; computing & IT; construction & building services; engineering & motor vehicle; fashion, promotion & retail; hairdressing & beauty therapy; health & social care; hospitality & catering; media & games development; performing arts & music; public services; sport and travel & tourism.

The Careers Open Evening is on Thursday 14th March from 3-7pm at the College’s Ellesmere Port Campus, off Sutton Way.
