The performance on Friday afternoon (15 June) was organised by the College’s performing arts, technical theatre and dance students to promote the HND courses offered at the College.

Angie Berwick, Qualification Leader for HND in Performing Arts, said: “Between ourselves and our students we discussed how we could promote the different performing arts and theatre courses we offer here at the College.

“Flash mob is the latest trend and great entertainment for the public as nobody is expecting it. Our students worked really hard to make the performance a success and it really showcased the talent and creativity we have here.

“The shopping centre was really busy when they put on the performance and we got an excellent response from all the shoppers.”

Les Lyon, Centre Manager of the Port Arcades Shopping Centre said, “Our shoppers were very surprised by the spontaneous appearance of the college students but were hugely impressed by the talent and style of the performance.  One lovely elderly lady told me it had made her day!”

A flash mob is a group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform for a brief time before dispersing.
