Farmfoods Apprenticeship scheme launched in Cheshire

June 21, 2013

Farmfoods, the UK’s frozen food specialists, has announced that they will work with the Cheshire Oaks Retail Academy (CORA) and National Skills Academy for Retail to promote their Apprenticeship scheme.

The scheme will provide opportunities for committed, highly motivated and passionate people to become part of the future for Farmfoods and have posts in their Ellesmere Port, Winsford and Congleton stores.

The programme, which is delivered by West Cheshire College, offers a full-time, paid position having hands-on experience working in the store. They will also attend a monthly seminar with CORA working towards a Retail Level 2 Apprenticeship qualification.

Steve Bridge, from CORA, which was set up by West Cheshire College and The McArthurGlen Group said: “Once we had started discussions with Farmfoods we immediately recognised the benefits of working in partnership with them to help them identify and recruit their apprentices.

“CORA has a strong record in providing Apprenticeships in retail, working with some of the UK’s leading brands. The Farmfoods Apprenticeship scheme provides a solid foundation for people seeking a career within the sector.

“Farmfoods has over 300 stores and the next few years will see continued growth of the company. The Apprenticeships will provide a lot of exciting opportunities for ambitious candidates.”

The starting salary for the Farmfoods Apprenticeship scheme is £4.00 per hour for those aged 16 to 17, rising to £5.00 per hour for those aged 18 and above.
