Explore your opportunities at West Cheshire College

March 4, 2013

West Cheshire College is hosting a series of taster sessions throughout National Careers Week (4-8th March) to give young people a chance to explore their career opportunities.

People have the opportunity to be involved in a series of taster sessions including being a mechanic, chef and a beautician

People looking to find their ideal job or a career change are invited to join these taster sessions taking place at the Chester and Ellesmere Port Campuses.

Whether you are hoping to be the next Jamie Oliver or a budding entrepreneur to rival Richard Branson; work in the travel industry; be a beautician, mechanic or work in the fashion industry- then West Cheshire College has the taster session for you!

Helen Nellist, Acting Principal at West Cheshire College, said: “We wanted to mark National Careers Week by giving a real flavour of the wide range of courses that we deliver and the potential career opportunities available.

“There is no age limit and they are open to everyone- whether you are still in school, looking for a job or interested in a career change.  Individuals can book in themselves or teachers may wish to book groups of their pupils”

All of the sessions are free and delivered by experienced tutors. The sessions will be held within the College’s learning areas- real-working environments designed to give students the best experience and the right skills for employment.

The full range of careers to experience are listed on the College’s website and include Hospitality and Catering, Health and Social Care, Construction and Engineering.

Anybody looking to attend the taster sessions will need to pre-book their places. For more information, or to book your place, call 01244 656440 or visit
