College offer perfect start in health and social care

October 1, 2012

West Cheshire College is working with some of the largest care homes in the North West to offer health and social care Apprenticeships for people looking for a career in the industry.

The College currently has a position at Chester Lodge Nursing Home, three Apprenticeships at the The Chapel House, Neston and three roles with CLS Care Services at their Ellesmere Port, Chester and Nantwich homes.

The vacancies are open to everyone from school leavers starting their first job to people looking for a complete career change.

Beverly Aiston, Assistant Manager for Work-Based Learning Care & Children’s Services at West Cheshire College, said: “We are not necessarily looking for candidates with specific qualifications for these Apprenticeships. Rather we are looking for individuals with a caring personality, willingness to learn and somebody who wants to make a difference to the life of an elderly person.

“Apprenticeships are a great way of gaining a qualification and work experience plus you earn a salary at the same time. So they are an ideal platform to start a career in health and social care.”

“It is an excellent opportunity to get your foot in the door in the industry and if you do work hard and do well, there is every chance it will lead to a permanent position.”

To apply for one of the health and social care Apprenticeships call the College hotline 01244 656 555 on or visit the National Apprenticeship Service website on:
