College launches new health and social care funded courses

June 20, 2013

West Cheshire College is offering a range of new fully-funded distance learning courses in health and social care.

West Cheshire College is now offering a range of fully-funded health & social care courses.

The new courses include NCFE Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of End-of-Life Care, NCFE Level 2 Understanding the Safe Handling of Medicines, NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Equality and Diversity, NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Working in Mental Health and NCFE Level 2 Certificate in the Principals of Dementia Care.

The courses are designed so learners can combine their studies with their full-time jobs, working independently away from College and are assessed by providing a workbook or a portfolio of evidence of their work.

Beverly Aiston, Manager for Work-Based Learning Care and Children’s Services, at West Cheshire College, said: “These new courses are a great opportunity for people currently working in the health and social care sector who want to further their knowledge and give them the right skills to progress in their career.

“Distance learning courses are ideal as they won’t disrupt the daily routine of an organisations and the extra training will improve the services an organisation provides.

“Many people would consider studying part-time but organisations often don’t have the spare budget. As the courses are fully-funded they are ideal and we expect them to be very popular with organisations across the region.”
