College can help kick start your football career

July 15, 2014

West Cheshire College has launched an exciting new Football Academy course for budding footballers to combine practical work experience with gaining a nationally recognised qualification.

Students will have the opportunity to visit local professional and semi-professional football clubs; plus the chance to partake in coaching displays and educational visits whilst working towards a BTEC qualification in Sport.

Students will also be able to participate in football tours in the UK and visits abroad will also be on offer. The student athletes will participate in regular training, strength and conditioning and compete in football matches in the British Colleges Sport North West Football League.

Jason Doggett, Sport Tutor at West Cheshire College, said: “We are very excited to offer this new course to students.

“As the World Cup has shown, football is extremely popular across the globe and there are fantastic opportunities to play or work in football. This qualification will help students break into this exciting industry.”
